Did you know that a suggestion can change your perception and create false memories?
Today with all of the media that surounds us, “T.V., Internet, Radio, Magazines, Newspapers, ect.”, we must be able to do the best to protect ourselves from someone else’s influence and their agenda.
There are “Dark Persuasion” techniques used on all of us everyday to shape our beliefs to someone else’s agenda and it might not be in our best interest.
Elizabeth Loftus (a leading world renown memory expert) in the 70’s discovered a technique when she was performing a film study on a group of participants about a traffic accident.
The study showed that a suggestion from an authority figure can over-ride a person’s visual memory of what they actually witnessed and create a new false memory. As time passed by from the initial event, false memories were more easily installed.
Think about this for a moment. Think about the authority figures we hear and see in our everyday life that understand just this one technique (there are many others), how they shape the perception around us and through us by knowing how to create false memories.
Just becoming aware of this technique, you can know how it’s used on you. You can also use it on others for the good, to paint a picture in a person’s mind of how things could be with a service, product, idea or a new behavior.
